Quintown Decock - KL Rahul duo record highest opening partnership in Indian Premier League


Lucknow Super Giants openers Quinton Decock and KL Rahul recorded a massive 210-run partnership in the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Calcutta Knight Riders as part of IPL 2022.
This is the highest opening partnership in the history of the Indian Premier League so far. Former Sunrisers Hyderabad openers Johnny Bairstow and David Warner's partnership of 185 is the highest opening partnership in the IPL so far. 
The opening partnership was recorded in 2019 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Both the openers scored centuries in this match.
In the latest match, KL Rahul Quinton Decock was at the crease for 20 overs and remained unbeaten on 210 runs.
No opening pair in the Indian Premier League has stood at the crease for 20 overs. This is the third highest run-scoring partnership in the entire IPL history.
Former Royal Challengers Bangalore star Virat Kohli's AB de Villiers recorded a massive 233 - run partnership against the Gujarat Lions in 2016.
This is the highest run-scoring partnership so far and the second-highest run-scoring partnership. In 2015, he had a 215-run partnership with the Mumbai Indians and was second. Decock KL and Rahul were the third pair to finish second. 
Quinton Decock was unbeaten on 140 off 70 balls while skipper KL Rahul was unbeaten on 68 off 51 balls.
  The Lucknow Super Giants won the match by two runs and finished third in the points table.
